Diabetes is a condition where our bodies have elevated blood sugar levels because the body stop producing insulin or it does not respond well to insulin. The American Diabetes Association recommends good control of blood sugars in order to reduce the risk of heart attacks. Recently clinical diabetes study was halted after researchers found an increased death rate among those taking higher doses of blood sugar-lowering medication. The fact is that adverse effects from medications are the fourth-leading cause of death in the US (after heart disease, cancer and stroke). About 6% of patients who take two medications daily will experience a drug interaction.
